Birling Gap is located near Eastbourne, where the South Downs meets the sea and is the perfect location for a walk, offering a spectacular view of the Seven Sisters. There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy including snowdrops, daffodils, bluebells, butterflies and birds including linnets and stonechats.
The car park at Birling gap is free for National Trust members, otherwise, it is a pay & display car park. There is a café located near the car park, which is currently only open for takeaway serving hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks.
The car park is located right by the beach, where you can take the steps down to the beach and enjoy a picnic, or dip in the sea! We enjoy walking from Birling Gap over to Beachy Head, where there is a stunning view of the Beachy Head Lighthouse. It is a couple of miles walk to Beachy Head from the Birling Gap car park, or just under 5 miles there and back. The Beachy Head pub makes a great stop for refreshments before heading back to Birling Gap.
